Toddler rescued from St. Louis storm sewer

ST. LOUIS (AP) - A 19-month-old boy who ventured too close to a St. Louis storm sewer and got caught in it was rescued without injury.

Authorities didn't publicly identify the child, who apparently was walking with his father Tuesday afternoon near their home when he let go of his dad's hand and wandered near the storm sewer. That's when the boy slipped on wet leaves and fell into the drain.

Frefighter Dennis Tabb Jr. rescued the boy, who he said was drenched and "not happy."

The boy was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
