5 earn all-state nods

Five area players were named to the all-state softball teams that were released recently by the state's coaches. Three of the players honored were first-team selections - Jefferson City's Erin Romph, Blair Oaks' Jordan Marble and Fatima's Claire Fick.

Romph was named to the Class 4 First Team as an infielder, while Marble and Fick both made the Class 2 First Team - Marble as a catcher and Fick as an outfielder. Marble's teammate, Jenna Markway, was named to the Class 2 Second Team as an infielder. The lone Class 1 area player selected was St. Elizabeth's Erin Struemph, who was a second-team pick. All of the area players honored were seniors except for Struemph, who is a sophomore. For the complete teams, see C4.
