NASA: Cassini probe to resume science soon

PASADENA, Calif. (AP) - NASA expects the Cassini spacecraft to be back to normal before Thanksgiving after going into standby mode last week.

Engineers at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory reset the craft's onboard computer and cleared the problem. It's still unknown why the glitch occurred.

Cassini is expected to be fully up and running again on Nov. 24. One of its science instruments has been turned on and engineers will bring the rest online next week.

Cassini was scheduled to fly by Saturn's largest moon Titan on Thursday. The flyby will occur as planned, but the craft will not return science data.
