Advanced classes are available not just at public schools but also at private schools in Jefferson City.
Compared with about 20 years ago when advanced classes first began, Dan Mathes, guidance counselor at Helias Catholic High School, said he has seen a marked increase in the number of students taking the advanced classes.
Lighthouse Preparatory Academy and Calvary Lutheran High School also offer advanced classes.
