GRAYRIDGE, Mo. (AP) - A planned Stoddard County agriculture facility is among 10 operations in the state to win state grants.
Stoddard County Oilseed Crushing in Grayridge will receive $159,500 from the Missouri Agricultural and Small Business Authority.
The Dexter Daily Statesman says the organization awarded the grants to help rural economic development. The grants are funded from the sale of tax credits and can be used for business planning purposes.
The oilseed crushing project is expected to be in operation in late 2011 or early 2012. It will primarily involve crushing soybeans to make oil that can be used in biodiesel production.
