Guard team wins marksmanship trophy

For the first time in the 40-year history of the Winston P. Wilson Marksmanship Sustainment Training Exercise, the Missouri National Guard brought home the championship trophy from Camp Joseph T. Robinson in North Little Rock, Ark.

The soldiers and airmen from the team were honored by Maj. Gen. Stephen L. Danner, the adjutant general of the Missouri National Guard, at a ceremony Friday morning at the Ike Skelton Training Site.

The four-person alpha team beat 90 other teams of more than 400 shooters from 42 states and two territories in combat-skill matches testing riflt, pistol and machine gun shooting abilities Oct. 24-29.
