Republicans win Callaway County offices

FULTON, Mo. - Republican Gary Jungermann defeated incumbent Presiding Commissioner Lee Fritz by a vote of 8,146-5,214, a margin of 61 percent, in Tuesday's elections.

Curtis Quick, a Democrat who has been circuit clerk since 2002, lost the race to Judy Groner, a Republican, 6,060-7,270. It was the closest contested race for an open Callaway County office.

In the Callaway County prosecutor's contest, Republican Christopher Wilson achieved a solid victory over Democratic opponent Leah Williamson Baker, taking 64 percent of the vote.

Speechless - the reaction Denise Hubbard had to the margin of her victory over Democrat Edna O'Neal in the race for clerk of the County Commission.

The final tally showed Hubbard winning with 7,554-5,580.

Republican Christine Kleindienst Tuesday won the race for Callaway County recorder, topping Democrat Gabe Craighead by a vote of 7,755-5,645.
