KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - A Missouri man who was swept more than a mile through a sanitary sewer he was checking has been released from a Kansas City hospital.

St. Luke's Hospital says 30-year-old Daniel Collins was discharged on Monday after being treated for hypothermia, severe respiratory failure and pneumonia.

Collins was admitted in critical condition after he was rescued Oct. 12 from a sewer system in suburban Raymore.

The married father of three from Collins, Mo., was wearing a safety harness when he descended into the sewer. It's not known how he became untethered as he was swept by rushing water and sewage through the 27-inch pipe.

Collins spent about 90 minutes in the sewer system before rescuers checking manholes pulled him to safety.
