A Jefferson City woman has been charged with second-degree arson and faces other charges in connection with an incident that occurred this week.
According to court documents, Shuntell Miller, 29, of 1014 E. Capitol Ave., is also charged with unlawful use of a weapon and third-degree domestic assault.
As of Thursday, Miller was being held in the Cole County Jail on $5,000 bond.
According to a Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement, the incident occurred Tuesday.
During an argument, Miller brandished a knife and attacked her girlfriend.
A struggle ensued and Miller received a laceration to her hand.
After Miller's girlfriend left the residence, Miller attempted to set the apartment on fire by burning a trash can in a bathroom.
The other apartments in the building were occupied and had to be temporarily evacuated.
The bathroom floor was damaged and the total estimated damage amount was $200.
