YOUR OPINION: Supporting Fair Tax makes sense

In an article, "We're Number 2," by Ronald Brownsheim published Dec. 9 in "The Allstate National Journal Heartland Monitor Poll," the United States ranks as number two in the global prosperity and jobs race. (www.finance.yahoo.com/family-homek/article/111549/were-no-2) 1,200 people were surveyed from Nov. 29-Dec. 1.

One of two selected China as the world's strongest economy while only one in five picked the US. Only one out of three predicted that within twenty years the US would be the strongest. When asked to identify the strongest global economy, 20 percent picked the US while 47 percent named China.

The poll reflected that Americans are concerned about the future economic prospects for younger generations. The shift from manufacturing to service industry is also of concern.

The ability of either party to improve economic conditions was addressed with the following results: "most say they are skeptical that either party's agenda can achieve the nation's major challenges ... confidence in the political system and optimism about the economy remain scarce."

So, is either party offering this country a real platform of reform, or are both parties continuing to use the same economic, outdated tax system as a means of improving the economic future?

According to this survey, Americans have lost faith in the "tried-and-try' and would welcome a new direction in taxation - the cornerstone of economic growth or failure.

Supporting the Fair Tax H.R.25 makes sense. Twenty-two million dollars of privately funded research shows the U.S. economy would double within 15 years.

In the last election, overall, Republican challengers won 25.8 percent of their races in this election cycle, but where the challengers were identified as supporters of the Fair Tax they won 58.6 percent of the races.

Candidates that offered the economic plan that could double the economy in 15 years had a plan constituents supported in the polls.
