WACO, Texas (AP) - Brittney Griner had 21 points, nine blocks and provided a giant obstacle on nearly every defensive stand, carrying No. 2 Baylor to a 65-54 victory over No. 6 Tennessee on Tuesday night.

Playing before a crowd of 10,569 - the most ever for a basketball game at Baylor, men's or women's - the Lady Bears (10-1) never trailed. They broke it open for good with an 11-0 run to close the first half and led by as many as 15 points. The Lady Vols (9-2) never got closer than seven points in the second half.

Odyssey Sims led Baylor with 24 points.

Meighan Simmons led Tennessee with 22 points and Angie Bjorklund had 10. No one else had more than five. The Lady Vols shot 25 percent from the field.

No. 11 Ohio St. 87, S.C.-Upstate 55

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Jantel Lavender scored 33 points to lead Ohio State in its last game before meeting No. 1 Connecticut.

The Huskies will try to match the UCLA men's NCAA record 88-game winning streak in the game at New York's Madison Square Garden.

Ohio State (8-1) rebounded from its first defeat three days earlier at No. 24 Syracuse by going inside to Lavender early and often.

Reserve Kim Roach had 15 points for the Spartans (3-4).
