It wasn't pretty. But coach Shane Meyer found the beauty in their win, as the Jefferson City Lady Jays were able overcome a slow start and finish off the game in the fourth quarter to pull out a 54-40 victory over the Stateswomen.
"We were in a tight one and we were able to extend the lead and knock down free throws," Meyer said. "We were able to close a ballgame, which shows we're growing as a team."
