Truman State takes step toward smoke-free campus

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. (AP) - Truman State University officials have voted to allow smoking only within 25 feet of any building on campus.

The Kirksville Daily Express reported Monday that Truman's Board of Governors voted on Saturday to have the new restriction take effect Aug. 1.

According to statistics and poll results compiled by Truman State, 77.8 percent of the Truman community supports making the entire campus smoke free.
