Efforts continue to add downtown restrictions on tattoo parlors

The Jefferson City Council's discussion on potential new restrictions for tattoo and piercing studios boils down to a struggle between two major sticking points - protecting a fragile downtown and allowing businesses to work unrestricted.

Lance Stegeman addressed the council Monday night on his concerns about allowing any more studios in the area. While he has not had a chance to formally poll the rest of the membership of the Downtown Association, he said he has received comments about problems from some in the group.
