KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - A Kansas City man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for killing a man in 2006.

Attorney General Chris Koster said in a release that 30-year-old Joseph Jones was also sentenced to 15 years for assault and 15 years for armed criminal action in the August 2006 shooting death of Tyrone Stamps in Kansas City.

He was found guilty in October. The sentences were announced Friday.

Jones was accused of shooting Tyrone Stamps after an alleged drug deal, and was also accused of wounding a 10-year-old girl in the shooting.

A co-defendant, Larry Jones, was convicted in June of second-degree murder and was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
