Division II playoff game between Bearcats, Mules to be televised

Part II is coming to a TV near you. The NCAA has announced Saturday's Division II quarterfinal playoff game between Central Missouri and Northwest Missouri State in Maryville will be televised live. KMOS-TV (Mediacom channel 6) will broadcast the game, which kicks off at 1 p.m.

Northwest (11-1) is the third seed in the NCAA Division II tournament, while Central (11-2) is the fourth seed.

The Bearcats took the regular-season meeting between the teams, defeating the Mules 17-16 on Nov. 6 with the help of a 45-yard field goal by Todd Adolf that helped Northwest capture the Missouri Intercollegiate Athletics Association title.

Both teams advanced to the quarterfinal game with two playoff wins. Northwest squeaked past Missouri Western 28-24 in the opening round and edged Texas A&M-Kingsville 35-31 last week. Central opened the tournament with a 55-35 drubbing of West Texas A&M before handing Abilene Christian a 51-44 loss.
