Third person charged in Columbia man's death

MEXICO, Mo. (AP) - A Missouri man is charged with second-degree murder in the death of a man whose body was found near the Audrain County line in July.

The Columbia Daily Tribune reports 37-year-old Justin Traughber, of O'Fallon, was charged Tuesday with second-degree murder and other counts in the death of 30-year-old Leon Wilder III, of Columbia. A passerby found Wilder's body on July 6.

Two other people, Richard Henry II and Arline Diedrich, both from the St. Louis area, are charged with first-degree murder in the case.

Witnesses told investigators Traughber and Henry took Wilder from a Columbia motel at gunpoint. Audrain County Sheriff Matt Oller said the death was the result of a drug deal that went bad.

Online court records do not indicate whether Traughber has an attorney.
