Man killed on light rail train in north St. Louis County

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Authorities say a man has been killed on a light-rail train in St. Louis County after fighting with another man.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the shooting happened around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday as the train approached a station near the University of Missouri-St. Louis's south campus.

Police arrested a suspect who ran off when the train stopped. The man was booked on suspicion of murder.

The name of the victim wasn't immediately released. Police said only that he was in his 20s.

St. Louis County Police Officer Benjamin Granda says police plan to seek warrants Thursday with the county prosecutor's office.
