Missouri man guilty of murder stemming from snitching claims

ST. LOUIS (AP) - A St. Louis man has been convicted of killing a man who accused him of being a police snitch.

Twenty-two-year-old Tamell Campbell was found guilty Thursday of first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the January 2015 death of 21-year-old Kurron McCaw.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/2cQriGC) reports that the two had been arrested in 2014 in a stolen car. They then met after McCaw obtained a police report in which Campbell mentioned him. Exactly what Campbell said to police about McCaw in the report, and how McCaw obtained it, weren't revealed.

Officials said McCaw phoned his mother after he was shot and told her he was dying before Campbell returned to shoot him again.

The defense blamed the shooting on another man.

Sentencing is set for Nov. 4.
