Republic daycare charged with operating without license

REPUBLIC, Mo. (AP) - A daycare in Republic is facing several charges after police say 5-year-old twins in the daycare's care were found wandering in the street in August.

The Springfield News-Leader (http://sgfnow.co/2fFsNGJ ) reports that Little Tots Learning Center and Heidi Staeger charged Tuesday with several counts of operating a child care facility without a license.

Staeger and her former employee Shannon Kelley were also charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Authorities say Staeger operated unlicensed daycare facilities at two locations in the city.

Online records do not list an attorney for either Staeger or Kelley.
