16-year-old tried as adult in death of toddler

CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) - A 16-year-old suspect in the shooting death of a St. Louis County toddler will be tried as an adult.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/29ms1gQ ) reports that prosecutors late Thursday charged Kameron Harvey with involuntary manslaughter in the December shooting death of 3-year-old Xavier Robinson. Harvey was 15 at the time of the shooting.

Authorities say Harvey was visiting the child's other brother. Charging documents say the gun had an attached laser site and the teens were watching the toddler chase the beam along the floor when the gun fired, striking Xavier in the abdomen.
