CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) - The son of former St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley has been sentenced to 23 years in prison for a series of robberies.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/2gUU5cC ) reports that 37-year-old Phillip Goodwin of University City was sentenced Thursday after pleading guilty to more than a dozen robberies across the St. Louis area.
Goodwin was arrested in 2014 by Florissant police after a robbery at a Circle K Gas Station. Police then determined that Goodwin was a suspect in several other crimes.
Goodwin was released from prison last spring after serving part of a 22-year sentence for a previous robbery.
Dooley served nearly 12 years as county executive. He was defeated in the August 2014 Democratic primary by Steve Stenger, who went on to win the general election.
