KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- A federal judge presiding over the wrongful-death lawsuit brought by Michael Brown's parents declined to expand the number of people who can see sensitive grand jury details related to Brown's 2014 death in Ferguson.
U.S. District Judge E. Richard Webber on Tuesday rejected a request by Brown's mother, Lezley McSpadden, to let three more of her attorneys see what Webber calls the "highly sensitive" information.
Webber agreed in June to let only two attorneys for the defense and each of Brown's parents see testimony and the names of witnesses from the St. Louis County proceedings involving Brown's death.
That panel declined to indict Darren Wilson, the Ferguson officer who shot and killed Brown during a street confrontation.
Brown's death and the grand jury's decision led to sometimes-violent protests in Ferguson.
