St. Elizabeth receives grant to upgrade weight room

The St. Elizabeth R-4 School District received a $19,222 grant from the Miller County Health Center to upgrade its weight room and transform it into a public fitness center.

The new facility will have new weight and exercise equipment, rubberized flooring and cameras. Adults will be able to access the facility after hours after signing a user agreement.

The project is expected to be done before the 2021-22 school year begins, according to a news release from the school district.

This is the third consecutive year the district has received the Miller County Health and Wellness Grant. Previous projects have included automatic external defibrillators, track resurfacing and outdoor playground equipment.
