State launches new site to connect Missouri projects and volunteers

The Missouri Community Service Commission has launched a new website, intended to provide information about service opportunities, volunteer spotlights and background information on its programs.

The website, showmeservice.org, is intended to foster community service and volunteerism, MCSC Executive Director Scott McFarland said in a news release. It is intended to make finding ways for Missourians to help each other easy.

The MCSC promotes and recognizes service volunteers and oversees AmeriCorps programs in Missouri.

Its website allows users to search for hundreds of in-person and virtual volunteer opportunities. Organizations can also add needs to an ongoing list of service projects.

Each year, more than 1.5 million Missourians volunteer in their communities, according to the news release.
