A waterline in Jefferson City High School building burst Friday evening, resulting in a significant water leak near the Union Street entry.

The burst was due to a frozen fire suppression system. The water was turned off, and a plumber and district staff are working to resolve the issue, JC Schools Communications Director Ryan Burns said.

The few fans and players who were present waiting for the junior varsity basketball game to start evacuated the building. The boys basketball game against Capital City High School has been rescheduled for Wednesday.
