Diaper drive on tap for next week

Donate diapers and dine on delicious delights.

People who contribute to the sixth annual “Stuff Santa’s Sleigh” diaper drive will receive cookies and their photo with Santa.

The drive will occur 4:30-6:30 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church, 324 Madison St.

Bring a box of diapers of any size, or make a $10 donation, and have a photo taken with Santa. Organizers will email photos to the donors after the event.

There is also a non-contact option that will allow children to get a photo with Santa. Make a $10 donation on the Capital City Diaper Bank’s Facebook page and email a photo of your child to [email protected] by Dec. 13. Elves will put your child’s picture in a frame held by Santa and email an image of Santa holding the frame back to you. There is an example on the bank’s Facebook page.

Many low-income families can’t afford enough diapers for their children. The diaper bank provides diapers to those in need. It also raises awareness of the challenges families face while trying to provide diapers for their babies.

The bank partners with the Cole County Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program, Common Ground Community Building, Jefferson City Schools Parents as Teachers, Jefferson City Diapers (through Bibleway Community Church), Little Explorers Discovery Center and Pregnancy Help Center. People who need diapers should contact one of the diaper bank partners.

The diaper bank can pick up large donations at your site. Contact the diaper bank by email at [email protected] to arrange pickup.
