Jefferson City man arrested for drug possession

A Jefferson City man was arrested this weekend for possessing illegal drugs in Moniteau County.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop Sunday on Business 50 in California for a registration violation, according to reports from the Moniteau County Sheriff's Department.

The driver, identified as Robert Wallace, 37, was reportedly "extremely nervous and shaking." Deputies learned Wallace was out on bond from Morgan County for possession of a controlled substance.

Wallace allowed deputies to search his vehicle and reportedly told them they would find marijuana wax along with syringes that contained methamphetamine, which deputies allegedly found in the vehicle.
