Eldon man charged with making terroristic threat

An Eldon man has been charged with attempting to make a terroristic threat at a Jefferson City business.

Anthony Mandino, 27, is charged with first-degree attempted making a terroristic threat.

A Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement states the incident occurred around 2 a.m. Wednesday at Scholastics Inc. on Stertzer Road.

Mandino was allegedly upset about the promotion of another employee, and a witness told authorities they heard Mandino say, "This place is lucky I don't start a mass shooting here." A second witness reported Mandino also said, "They are lucky I don't commit mass murder."

That same morning, Mandino was sent home by company officials.

At 1 p.m. that same day, a third witness contacted Mandino by phone and explained to him there were witness statements made about his actions at work, but Mandino reportedly denied the allegations. The third witness also told officers Mandino's employment at Scholastic was being terminated, and his building access badge had been deactivated.
