Alcohol a factor in Monday crash

Alcohol was a contributing factor in a crash Monday night in Jefferson City.

The crash occurred at 9:20 p.m. in the 1200 block East Capitol Avenue, according to a Jefferson City Police Department report.

Curtis Murrell, 32, of Jefferson City, ran off the right side of the street and struck a parked vehicle, which was then pushed into the driveway of 200 Pine St., where it hit another parked vehicle. Murrell continued moving forward and struck another parked vehicle before coming to a stop.

Murrell was transported to a Columbia hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt.

Traffic was diverted in the area for about one hour while the scene was investigated and cleared.
