Jefferson City man hurt in rollover wreck

One person was critically injured in a one-vehicle rollover crash early Tuesday morning in Jefferson City.

The crash occurred in the 2500 block of U.S. 50 West around 2:08 a.m., according to a Jefferson City Police Department report.

A witness reported a vehicle had passed her at a high speed then went off the roadway, into the median, and overturned several times.

The driver, Steven Cook, 39, of Jefferson City, was extricated from the vehicle and taken to University Hospital in Columbia due to the seriousness of his injuries. He was wearing a seat belt.

The westbound lanes of U.S. 50 were closed for approximately two hours while the scene was being investigated by the Jefferson City Police Department Traffic Unit.
