Gov. Mike Parson appointed Marcy Oerly as Moniteau County Assessor last week. Oerly will serve as the county assessor until later this year — the position is on the ballot for the Aug. 4 Primary Election, and a new permanent assessor will be selected by voters near the end of 2020 in the General Election Nov. 3.

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson appointed Marcy Oerly as Moniteau County assessor March 25.

Oerly has lived in Moniteau County for 30 years and has worked for the state of Missouri for nearly 29 years prior to her appointment, administering state and federal programs.

Oerly said her biggest goals for the immediate future are to help regain trust in the office, learn the job and obtain any training she may need to effectively fulfill her role between now and the election later this year. The Moniteau County assessor position is on the ballot for the Aug. 4 primary election, and a new permanent assessor will be selected by voters in the Nov. 3 general election.
