Child hurt in Jefferson City accident

A 7-year-old boy had minor injuries after an accident Thursday morning in Jefferson City.

Officers were called at 7:28 a.m. to the 1900 block of West Main Street, according to police reports.

The investigation determined a pickup truck, driven by Steven Walden, 43, of Hartsburg, was traveling west on West Main Street and Kia'Shaun Reid was crossing the street, walking south.

Walden saw Kia'Shaun and stopped, but Kia'Shaun walked into the front fender of the truck and was knocked to the ground.

Kia'Shaun was released to his mother at the scene.

Walden and his passenger, an 8-year-old boy, had no reported injuries.
