St. Mary's Hospital will offer a chance for women to learn about health - and wine - in October.
SSM Health, the St. Louis-based owner of the Jefferson City hospital, is offering an evening dedicated to women's health, during "Wellness and Wine Ladies Night Out," on Oct. 1.
The free event - which is 5-9 p.m. at Capital Ritz, 2716 Plaza Drive - will feature small plates and wine education. It will contain exhibitor booths providing health screenings and door prizes. Hello Belle Boutique, which offers the latest boutique finds delivered to your door, will be on site with the latest fall trends.
Soft Surroundings, purveyor of women's clothing and accessories as well as fine furniture, will also be available at the night out.
Women attending the event will be able to hear from a number of experts on women's health-related topics. Come prepared with questions or simply enjoy the wine and listen to the discussions.
Educational sessions begin at 6 p.m. Sessions include "Sticks and stones and broken bones: Common orthopedic problems in women;" "From top to bottom: Common digestive conditions in women;" "You're not alone: Anxiety and depression;" "Moving beyond medications: Integrative medicine for pain management;" "What's going on down there: Pelvic pain and related issues;" and "How to reduce your risk: Top five cancers for women."
A question-and-answer period with the speakers will follow.
