A St. Thomas man died Tuesday evening when his tractor ran off a driveway, struck a tree and overturned in Cole County.
The Missouri Highway Patrol identified the victim as Robert B. Luebbering, 83, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred around 7:08 p.m. at 13323 Lower Bottom Road.
The patrol report indicates Luebbering was driving a 1967 John Deere 3020 tractor on a private driveway when it traveled off the right side of the roadway. He overcorrected, and the tractor went off the left side of the roadway. He then overcorrected a second time and the tractor went off the right side, hitting a tree and overturning.
