Two men were arrested Saturday after a search by authorities in Moniteau County.

Sheriff's department reports show detectives with the Cole County Sheriff's Office had called Moniteau County about a possible stolen vehicle that was parked in the woods off of Lake Imhoff Road just north of California.

Moniteau County deputies then went to the area and found a truck parked with a female in the back seat. The woman told deputies she had come to the area with two men and they had fled into the woods on foot.

The men were later identified as Charlie Walters, 41, of California, and Dwight Blumhorst, of the Kansas City area. Both had warrants out for their arrest.

Deputies set up a perimeter and utilized K-9's and foot patrols to find the men. They were able to find Walters hiding near a residence on Lake Imhoff Road. They also reported Walters was in possession of methamphetamine.

Deputies were later notified by a citizen in the area that there was a man who had walked out of the woods and was walking on Imhoff Road. This was Blumhorst and he was taken into custody.

Walters was taken to the Moniteau County Jail while Blumhorst was released on his warrant from Gladstone police.
