One person was arrested after a pursuit with Jefferson City police Monday afternoon that temporarily redirected traffic on Missouri Boulevard.

An officer attempted to stop an unlicensed motor vehicle near the intersection of Stadium Boulevard and Missouri Boulevard at approximately 12:25 p.m., according to police reports.

The driver, Kenneth Manion, 41, of Independence, failed to yield, and a short vehicle pursuit ensued. Manion, traveling east on Missouri Boulevard, struck a pickup truck, forcing the truck forward to strike a third vehicle in traffic.

He suffered injuries in the collision and was taken into custody, then transported from the scene for treatment. Neither of the other two drivers suffered injuries.

Manion is facing charges for multiple traffic violations and resisting arrest.

Traffic on Missouri Boulevard near Love Sushi restaurant was redirected for approximately 30 minutes to allow emergency personnel to clear the scene.
