It's time to celebrate being a Hornet.

The Fulton Public School Foundation's annual gala is set for 5:30 p.m. March 16 at Westminster College's Backer Dining Hall. The evening starts with a social hour, where attendees will be able to view displays showing off the exciting classroom grant projects funded by the foundation.

"2018 was a great year for the Foundation," FPSF President Jane Bell said. "Fourteen classroom grants were funded."

This year's projects included everything from a community garden to an artist club to equipment for physics experiments.

Next up is a meal catered by Fresh Ideas, followed by a program.

This year's Foundation Alumni Hall of Fame honorees are John Ferrugia, anchor, managing editor and investigative reporter at Rocky Mountain PBS; and Rick Means, president, CEO and chairman of the board at Shelter Insurance.

New this year: an educator hall of fame. The first four inductees will be honored during the gala for their outstanding work in the school district. The honorees are Pat Grubb, Jane Hall and, posthumously, Bob Fisher and Billie Taylor. Stay tuned for more information about the new hall of fame.

"We plan to have a large crowd to celebrate the hard work and achievements of our grant recipients and honor our newly inducted alumni and educators into the halls of fame," FPSF Executive Director Kathy Richey Liddle said.

Tickets cost $50 apiece, and seating is limited. Make a reservation by calling 573-220-2209 or emailing [email protected].
