Eldon Middle School to install updated intercom system

The Eldon School Board approved the installation of a new intercom system at their Monday board meeting.

The $22,379 project at the district's middle school will be installed before the upcoming school year.

"The Eldon Middle School intercom system is the original system," Superintendent Matt Davis said in a project brief. "We have repaired some parts over the years but our system is old enough that we have to install a new system at this point to meet our needs."

Towner Communications Systems will install the telephones and bell commander. The current system was installed in 1978.

In other business, the board:

  • Approved a 7 a.m. budget meeting for June 28.
  • Acknowledged the Total Fleet Excellence award given to the district. Missouri Highway Patrol school bus inspection program awarded Eldon 96.7 percent approval rate for 2019.
