Police: Teenager chased people with knife in Jefferson City

A Holts Summit teenager has been charged with chasing people with a knife last week in Jefferson City.

Gannon Stephens-Miller, 17, is charged with unlawful use of a weapon.

The alleged victim, who reportedly is pregnant, was in a vehicle with two friends in a parking lot at Monroe Street and Tanner Way, according to a Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement. The group was talking to two men standing outside the vehicle when Stephens-Miller drove up in his truck and blocked their way.

Stephens-Miller allegedly got out of his truck and started yelling at the woman and her friends. At one point, witnesses said, Stephens-Miller lifted his shirt to expose a handgun in his waistband. He drove off then returned a few moments later.

This time, Stephens-Miller got out of his truck reportedly holding a large, curved knife and tried to open the door of the women's vehicle. He then allegedly chased the men through the parking lot with the knife and attempted to slash a tire of the women's car as they drove away.

Stephens-Miller then got back in his truck and followed the women, who drove to the Police Department on Monroe Street, where he drove away from the area.
