4 people hurt seriously in early weekend accidents

A Jefferson City man was seriously hurt Saturday morning in a one-vehicle accident on Business 50 West at Country Club Drive.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported Thomas J. Eggen, 55, attempted to turn his Honda Goldwing left onto Country Club Drive and into the path of a 2012 Chevy Malibu driven by Anthony G. Brown, 30, of Jefferson City.

Both men were using safety devices. Eggen was taken to St. Mary's Hospital for treatment.

Three Morgan County women were seriously hurt around 11:30 p.m. Friday when their ATV ran off Victoria Road, one half mile west of Missouri 135.

The Highway Patrol said Samantha A. Williams was headed west on Victoria Road and failed to negotiate a curve.

The ATV ran off the left side of the road and overturned.

All three women were ejected.

Williams, 20, of Versailles, the driver, and passenger Sarah M. Komrska, 17, of Stover, were taken by air ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia.

The third passenger, Jordan L. Burgess, 20, of Versailles, was taken by ground ambulance to Bothwell Hospital in Sedalia.
