Tipton man charged in Moniteau County burglaries

A Tipton man was arrested in connection with recent burglary cases in Moniteau County.

Moniteau County Sheriff’s Department reports state Garret Fields, 26, was arrested for second-degree burglary, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Wednesday, deputies received information about the possible location of property that was reported as stolen in a burglary just outside of California.

Acting on that information early Thursday, deputies searched a Tipton residence where Fields had been living. Inside the residence, deputies located and seized several items that were reported stolen in a burglary Dec. 23 near McGirk and items from a burglary reported Wednesday near California. Also during the search, deputies located marijuana, drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine.
