Fire damages Fulton home

The Fulton Fire Department responded Monday evening to a residential structure fire at 105 W. Oliver St.

The call came in around 5:20 p.m., according to Fire Chief Kevin Coffelt. When they first arrived, firefighters discovered heavy smoke was showing from the roof of a one-and-a-half-story residential structure. Fulton police assisted with evacuating occupants.

Fire crews located fire in the attic and were able to bring it under control in approximately 30 minutes. A search of the structure was completed and it was confirmed all occupants were out.

Damages are estimated at $60,000.

Fire and police department investigators and the State Fire Marshals office are investigating the cause of the fire.

The Callaway County Ambulance District was on scene for firefighter rehab operations. Central Callaway Fire Protection District and South Callaway Fire Protection provided mutual aid.
