A vehicle stop in Moniteau County led to the drug-related arrest of a Sedalia man.

Deputies on routine patrol Tuesday observed a vehicle traveling north on Missouri 5 toward Tipton with no front license plate, according to Moniteau County Sheriff's Department reports. Deputies stopped the vehicle in Tipton and made contact with the driver, Cody Edgar, 20.

Deputies said Edgar was extremely nervous, failed to answer their questions and denied deputies' request to search his vehicle.

Tipton police were also at the scene and had their K-9, Ruger, with them. The dog gave a positive alert for drugs in Edgar's vehicle. Deputies found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
