Morgan County shooting suspect caught

Morgan County authorities caught a man they believe shot another man in the face on the morning of Dec. 28.

Revious Hamilton Jr., 50, was wanted for first-degree assault, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm.

The shooting occurred at a residence on Bear Claw Road off of Ivy Bend Road, according to a Morgan County Sheriff's Department news release.

The victim identified Hamilton as the man who shot him. The victim told authorities Hamilton lived across the street from him and apparently began to verbally assault the victim before firing several rounds from a handgun.

Hamilton was last seen fleeing the scene on foot; and despite searches of several unoccupied structures in the area and air searches by the Missouri Highway Patrol, Hamilton eluded authorities.

The following Tuesday afternoon, Morgan County authorities learned Hamilton was in the Bald Knob, Arkansas, area.

Arkansas authorities identified Hamilton and another subject on video surveillance at a business in Bald Knob. They were familiar with the other subject, and this person helped them locate Hamilton, who was taken into custody.

Morgan County authorities said Hamilton would be extradited back to their custody.
