Domestic violence incident leads to barricade, arrest

A Cole County man was taken into custody after barricading himself in his home for a few hours Thursday morning.

Deputies were called to the 5000 block of Woodhaven Drive in Apache Flats just before 9:30 a.m. Thursday for a domestic violence incident, according to Cole County Sheriff's Department reports.

The victim told deputies Kent Marsh had assaulted her and barricaded himself in their basement with several weapons.

Marsh was found to have two active warrants for his arrest.

The Jefferson City Police Department SWAT team was called to assist, and negotiators were called in who eventually got Marsh to come out of the house just before noon.

Marsh now faces a charge of fourth-degree domestic violence along with the two active warrants.
