A Stover woman was arrested for drug possession in the Moniteau County Jail.

Sheriff's department reports show Bonnie Strutton, 34, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance within a detention facility and delivery of a controlled substance within a detention facility.

The incident occurred Dec. 28 when jailers received information that a current inmate was possibly in possession of a controlled substance.

K-9 Mizzou was brought to the jail to assist with a search and indicated there were drugs in two cells. The inmates from that section of the jail were then searched and allegedly a substantial amount of methamphetamine was recovered.

Strutton was then placed in another holding cell and is awaiting further charges. She was arrested and is being held for another agency.
