An Eldon man pleaded guilty to a April 2017 charge of delivery of a controlled substance in Cole County.
Cole County Judge Dan Green sentenced Phillip Rhodes Jr., 26, to five years in prison with credit for time served. He had been charged with unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of a weapon, but those were dismissed.
Officers stopped Rhodes' vehicle for a registration violation in the 1700 block of Missouri 179, according to a Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement.
Rhodes was removed from the vehicle, and officers found two small bags of handgun ammunition, a 9mm handgun, a digital scale and several bags containing a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine during a search of the vehicle.
Rhodes was on supervised probation for a felony stealing case at the time of his arrest.
