Jefferson City resident Mary E. Barnhill, 43, was taken to University hospital with minor injuries after a one-vehicle wreck early Sunday morning in Boone County.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said the wreck occurred at 12:58 a.m. on U.S. 63 southbound at Gans Creek.

It happened as Richard J. Barnhill, 42, of Jefferson City, was overtaking a vehicle while driving south. His vehicle slid on an icy road, going off the left side of the road, striking a cable median barrier and a guardrail. It came to rest in the median.

Richard Barnhill was not injured.

Richard and Mary Barnhill were wearing seat belts, the patrol said.
