Helias Catholic High School is replacing more than $530,000 worth of windows.

The school on Swifts Highway will remove and replace windows at an estimated cost of $534,600, according to a building permit filed with Jefferson City.

The project will include approximately 24 classroom windows in the old section of the school, windows in six counselor and guidance offices, two banks of windows in the school's Student Success Center and all the windows in the auxiliary gym, Helias Director of Facilities Travis Reinsch said in an email.

Helias opened a new three-floor academic wing to the school in 2017.

With the exception of the auxiliary gym's windows - that are original to Helias, which opened in 1956 - the windows being replaced were installed 25 years ago in 1994, Reinsch said.

The windows will be taken out and replaced at the end of May, and the project is being funded by donations, he added.

The city building permit lists GBH Builders Inc. as the general contractor, with the Architects Alliance Inc. and Meyer Electric also involved in the project.
